Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of the eight-week session, riders will have acquired the basics of riding and be able to mount and dismount, adjust stirrups and girth, correct position at walk and trot, and transitions.  Riders will understand and demonstrate the basics of good horse care including feeding, grooming, and stabling.

Riding and horse care are taught for the most part in the arena and the barn. The rider level manual is the primary resource material, however, lessons are not taught directly from the book.
