Mini/JR Rider
Participants: Children Ages 4 - 7
Pricing: $510
Duration: 8 weeks
The goal of this program is to give young children a safe introduction to horses. Students in this program are required to have a parent lead the horse while they ride (don't worry, we'll teach you how!). While riding they learn basics like mounting/dismounting, halt, walk, trot, steering and basic patterns of the ring as well as playing lots of games! Lessons are 1 hour long.
Horse Camps
Participants: Children Ages 4 - 7 and 8 - 16
Pricing: $365 or $595
Duration: 5 days (Mon- Fri) in July/August
The objective for our summer day camps is to enable children to explore the fun experience of horses, while encouraging resilience, emotional control, and positive attitudes towards new challenges. We use a variety of activities on and off horse including games, crafts, and horse care!
Pony Up! Camp is a half day camp for those aged 4 to 8
Horse Rider Camp is a full-day camp for aged 8 to 16.
We also offer shorter running camps that align with kids school winter and spring break.
Learn to Ride
Participants: Children 8+, Teens, Adults
Pricing: $300 or $600
Duration: 4 or 8 weeks
A great program for the first-time rider or someone coming back to riding after a long absence. Students will learn theory, stable management practices, as well as riding. The Rookie, Introductory, and Beginner Learn to Ride program is a pre-requisite for students wanting a spot in our Horsemanship Program. Lessons are 2 hours long: 1 hour in the arena riding 30 minutes before and after with the horse on the ground.
Building-a-Connection
Participants: Children 8+, Teens, Adults
Pricing: $110
Duration: 4 weeks
An unmounted program for people of any experience wanting to gain further knowledge and experience with our WELCA horses on the ground! This will give an additional opportunity to practice skills and concepts learned in lessons, or have an introduction to horse handling for those interested in participating in our programs!
1.) Introductory: No experience
2.) Beginner: Have done a Learn to Ride, Building a Connection: Introductory, or previously or currently riding in Novice WELCA Horsemanship
3.) HSP Level 1/2: Previously or currently riding at these levels in WELCA Horsemanship
4.) HSP Level 3/4: Previously or currently riding at these levels in WELCA Horsemanship
Horsemanship
Participants: Children 8+, Teens, Adults
Pricing: $290 per month
Duration: 10 months (40 weeks Sept - June)
Riders in this program continue to develop skills learned in our Learn To Ride program and work towards the Equine Canada Rider Levels 1-4(dressage and jump). Our focus is primarily equitation and education- we are a non-competitive barn. Lessons are 2 hours long: 1 hour in the arena riding 30 minutes before and after with the horse on the ground.
One-Day Events

WELCA runs a variety of programming throughout the year for the community to get a short and sweet experience with the horses!
Event Rides- 30 minute on-lead outdoor rides that coincide with holidays such as Halloween and Easter
Community Events- Our annual Hallo-whinny and Summer Beach party feature horse demonstrations and games for a fun time out with the family!
Date Nights- These run a couple times a year and include a lesson as well as wine and snacks in our historic cabin! (Must be 18+)
