Learn to Ride Lesson Program

About the WELCA Learn to Ride

The Learn to Ride program is designed to introduce you to the fun, fitness, and challenge of horse riding! Over the course of the 2 hour lessons, the Teaching Assistants will teach you about horse behaviour, handling, grooming, and tacking up your horse. During your time in our indoor, temperature-controlled arena, the Riding Instructor will teach you how to work with your horse as a team to go through obstacles, over poles, and complete basic arena figures, as well as how to trot!

Whether you are brand new to horses, rode in lessons many years ago, or have ridden but never with an instructor, this is a great kicking off point to learn about how the lesson program works and if WELCA is a good fit for you!

The pricing includes the use of a lesson horse, all tack and equipment, boots and helmet rental, and instruction by the TA'S and Instructor. The first class is always unmounted so that you can meet the team and go over all of the information needed to get you in the saddle!
